Sephora is overwhelming, especially if you’re not a makeup maven.
Sephora is either a wonderland of beauty or a nightmare of decision paralysis, depending on how much of a makeup lover you are. If you are not into makeup, but you have a friend or relative who is, you might decide to brave a trip into this beauty emporium to find a simple gift for them.
If you’re not sure what colors they like, lip care is always a fairly safe bet.
I don’t think I know of any makeup enthusiast who doesn’t like lip care products. They may exist, but I don’t know them. Unless they have sensitivities to specific ingredients, lip care products are usually appreciated.
No, getting them a pack of Chapstick just won’t do. (Unless they really like Chapstick, of course.)
If you’re going to give lip care as a gift, it needs to be something special. It should be something a little nicer than a drugstore gift set. It could maybe even be something a little high-end.
Enter the Bite Beauty Sweet Treats Agave Lip Care Set.
You would think with a name that long this set would cost an arm and a leg. Nope! In this set you get three of Bite’s top lip care products (two mini sizes, one small packet) for only $12.00 (USD)! I’m a little strapped for cash at the moment, but I can afford $12.00 for fancy lip care. (Did I mention I’m a bit of a lip balm junkie?)
What’s in this set…
This lip care set comes in a small, clear glass apothecary jar with a black plastic screw-top lid. Within the jar you get a mini size of the Bite agave lip balm, a mini size of their agave lip mask, and a small packet of their agave lip scrub.

There are two sets to choose from: the Party Prep set featuring the lip mask in Champagne, and the Holiday Hangover set featuring the lip mask in Lavender. They are both Sephora exclusives. I picked up this kit in Champagne.
What are the products like?
The lip balm is interesting. Imagine you have a solid stick of honey that’s a little difficult to apply because of the hardness of the stick, but then becomes a wonderfully moisturizing and soothing balm as it warms up on the lips. That’s what this lip balm is like. It also has a slightly sweet taste and scent. Nothing overwhelming, just very light and natural. Unlike some other lip balms I’ve used, I don’t feel like I need to immediately reapply it as soon as it wears off.

The lip mask is also interesting. I have the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It’s one of my favorite lip products. This mask is not like the Laneige mask. The Bite lip mask is a bit thicker and difficult to squeeze out of the tube when it’s cold. It has a light vanilla scent and a Champagne gold sheen to it. It is also wonderfully soothing and moisturizing.

It feels a bit thick and very slightly sticky on the lips, but not in a bad way. You definitely know you’re wearing a lip product until it warms up and sinks into your lips. Because this has a very sheer Champagne sheen, I’m more inclined to wear this as a day balm rather than a night mask. I should mention that this also has the same natural, but slightly sweet scent and taste as the lip balm.

The lip scrub is a lip scrub. It’s not a type of product I use very often. While this one does become milky when you add water, it’s still a scrub. Honestly, if I’m gonna use a lip scrub, I prefer something that comes in stick form, like the e.l.f. Lip scrub stick. I’m glad this is the smallest sample in the set.
Would I buy this set again, or purchase the full size Bite products?
YES! I would buy this set again.
After I use up the minis in this set, I am seriously thinking about picking up a full size of the Bite Beauty lip balm and/or lip mask as a congratulatory gift to myself once I get a new job and get my first check.
While I don’t know yet if the Bite lip care products are holy grail for me, I do I know like them. A LOT.
