Spotted in the Wild: Fuzzy Blending Sponge!

A couple of months or so ago, the YouTube beauty community was a flutter about the Juno & Co Microfiber Velvet blending sponge. I found a dupe at Wal-Mart!

If you like watching YouTube beauty gurus, you probably saw all the buzz around a certain fuzzy blending sponge. Pretty much everyone loved it. They said it was great when used damp with liquids and creams, and also great when used dry with powders.

They all said the texture of the microfiber fuzz on the sponge gave foundation a very skin-like finish, and that they felt like they used less product with this tool. The best part? It’s only $6.00(USD)! Could this be the sponge that de-thrones the Beauty Blender?

There’s one catch…

The flocked blending sponge all the gurus were going on about is only available online from this site. So while the sponge is only $6.00, you would have to order a few of them to qualify for free shipping to make it worth it. And what if you found you hated the fuzzy sponge? Would you be stuck with them? Maybe you could give them to your beauty enthusiast friends?

While I was at Wal-Mart, I found a dupe for the Juno & Co fuzzy sponge. Wal-Mart’s house brand, Equate, has a beauty brand now. Equate Beauty seems to have a few new beauty tools available, including makeup brushes, brush cleaner, and sponges.

The Equate Beauty version of the Juno & Co sponge is called the Flocked Blender Sponge. It’s light blue, fuzzy, and teardrop shaped with a flat side angled toward the point. The packaging is a simple clear plastic box with a hang tab. This blending sponge is only $3.98(USD) at Wal-Mart.

Can I order this sponge on walmart.com?

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a link for the Equate fuzzy blending sponge. I also don’t know if it’s available at all Wal-Marts, or just a select few. So, if you are curious and want to give this unusual beauty tool a try, you will have to go to your local Wal-Mart and see if they have it. It will be hanging out with the makeup brushes.

So, is it worth $4.00?

Honestly, I don’t know yet. I just got it, so as of this writing I have not yet tried it. I have to admit that I am excited to give it a whirl, though. If it turns out that I don’t like it, I’m only out four bucks, right?

I mostly wanted to let you know that there was an even less expensive alternative to the Juno & Co sponge that you don’t have to pay shipping for. I will do a full review of the Equate Beauty Flocked Blender Sponge as soon as I’ve used it a few times.
